Benita Samantha Lucas

Benita Samantha Lucas was born February 22, 1965 to the late Matthew Lawrence Lucas & Virginia Thomas Lucas. She departed this life and entered into her heavenly home Monday, October 21, 2019.

Benita truly loved her family. Her greatest love was for her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, her daughters, and her grand babies. Benita showed great excitement when she was around her loved ones. She had a heart of gold and would share everything she had with her family and the community.

A member of Bear Creek Congregational Church, Benita was a member of the Usher Board, BC Ensemble, and Unity Choir. She also served as an Assistant Sunday School Secretary and worked on the Kitchen Committee.

Educated in the Moore County School System, Benita attended Westmore Elementary School and North Moore High School. She played Basketball and ran Track (with no shoes). She loved yard sales and cooked a mean pot of cabbage. She had a passion for doing CNA work and caring for others.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters: Jasmine Davis (Webb) Lady Lake, FL, and Sophia Richardson (Xavier) Robbins, NC, 3 Grandchildren: Nyria, Alexander and Alanna. Sisters: Phyllis Wilson (George), Carthage, NC, Lessie Richmond (Jr.) Sanford, NC, and Teresa Lucas, College Park, GA. 4 Nieces: Nikki, Shonda, Kiesla, and Katelyn. 3 Great-Nieces: Laila, Lexi, and Khloe. 3 Great Nephews: Lucas, Kameron and Aiden. Aunts, Uncles, other relatives and friends. Special cousins and friends Leitha Thomas and Priscilla Freeman.

Benita was preceded in death by 1 Brother Alton Lucas, 1 Sister Agnes Rodella Lucas, and 3 Nephews Tre’ Wilson, Edmund Richmond, and Alton Ray.
