Obituary

Catherine Kennedy Spencer was born May 28, 1947 to the late Viola Kennedy in Moore County, NC. She departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.

She was married to the late David Mason Spencer and to this union five children were born. David Mason Spencer, Jr., Tammy Kennedy, Freddie Kennedy, Terry Kennedy and Charlotte Kennedy. They also had one son that they raised Leo Bowden III.

She was under the leadership of the late Bishop George McKoy were she faithfully served on the usher and nursing board, she was a faithful choir member and she served on the food committee at Creek Grove Christian Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She later joined New Destiny Ministry under the leadership of Elder Leonard J. Richardson and was a faithful member until she began having issues with her health.

Catherine was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was willing to help anyone and she would surely make you laugh. She will be greatly missed by her family, the church and the community.

She was proceeded in death by her mother, Viola Kennedy, her brothers, Robert Kennedy, Sr, Bobby Kennedy, Leonard Kennedy, Donald Kennedy and Leo Kennedy. Her husband David Spencer, two sons David Mason Spencer, Jr. and Freddie Kennedy. One daughter Tammy Kennedy.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Terry Kennedy (Danielle) of Eagle Springs, NC, Leo Bowden III (Autumn) of Bennett, NC. One daughter Charlottee Zumdio (David) of Robbins, NC. One sister Donna Mae Cagle of High Point, NC. Ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, five sisters in laws, one grand dog Polly Kennedy, a special grand daughter Denise Dockery and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
