James Emanuel Kennedy

James Emanuel Kennedy was born on November 3, 1962, in Pinehurst, NC, to James Edward Kennedy and Mary Jane Kennedy. He peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on February 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to his family. James was a longtime member of Creek Grove Church in Eagle Springs, where he attended faithfully for many years. His faith was central to his life, and he found great joy in mentoring children, attending church services, and watching football. He cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and visiting friends and family, always making time for those who mattered most to him.

James was a hardworking and dedicated individual, with a career that spanned many years. He worked at Spring Mills in Biscoe for 27 years, and later served as a caregiver for his father in Eagle Springs. His professional journey continued with a position at AutoZone in Carthage, and he also served as an instructor at McCain Correctional Facility until his health began to decline. Throughout his life, James showed great resilience and commitment to his work and his loved ones.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Mary Jane Kennedy, and his beloved sister, Pamela Kennedy.

He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters: Jerica Poole (Darius) of Sumter, SC, Brandi Kennedy (Trevor) of Eagle Springs, NC, and Goddaughters Bethany Andrade and Dakeyah Tanner of Eagle Springs, NC. James also leaves behind one son, James Stephen Kennedy of Fort Jackson, SC, as well as six grandchildren: Shyhiem, Amora, and Haylo Poole of Sumter, SC, and Kairo, Keelan, and Kingston Farquharson of Eagle Springs, NC.

He is survived by his sisters Annie Smith, Cheryl Kennedy, and Celestine Cooper, as well as his brothers Larry Kennedy, Glenn Kennedy, Lewis (Dequilla) Kennedy, and Dale Kennedy. In addition to his children and extended family, James is survived by Kristy Kennedy, the mother of his children and the love of his life.

His memory will be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends who were blessed to know him. James will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strong faith, and his kindness toward others. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
