Larry Darnell Steele son of the late William Edward Sr., and Ella Mae McQueen-Steele, was born on September 29, 1955. God transitioned Larry from his earthly body on December 3, 2020 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina with his sister Cynthia, Elliott and nephew Tony by his side.
“Little Dee”, a name given to Larry by friends, a graduated from East Montgomery High School in Biscoe, North Carolina. He attended Barber-Scotia College prior to serving in the United States Army.
Larry enjoyed fishing, car-detailing, cooking, visiting friends and spending time with family. He was an out-going person with a humble God given spirit.
Larry’s pride and joy were becoming a “Paw Paw”. He loved quality time with his grandchildren, unique in their own way.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Monroe Steele and Willian Edward Steele, Jr.
Cherished memories belong to; his daughter Cassandra and her mother Shelia Williams. His grandchildren’s; Tanisha, Kaisa, Archie (Wooggie), Jeremiah and Elijah. Brothers; Harvey (Vicky), Barney. Sisters; Betty (Samuel), Louise, Beulah, Charity (Dusty), Cynthia (Elliott), Edna Mae. Aunts; Beulah Barrett. Mentor and Father figure Bishop Arlester Simpson, Sr. and his wife Ann. And a host of wonderful nieces and nephews.
