Leroy Spencer

Mr. Leroy Spencer, son of the late Coby and Maggie Spencer was born July 3, 1936 in Moore County, North Carolina. He departed this life on August 8, 2019.

Mr. Leroy Spencer graduated from New York School of Culinary and became Head Chef at Florence Nightingale Nursing Home. Once retired Mr. Spencer became an entrepreneur in two states, always greeting his customers on the “Hill” with conversation and sweet samples with nephew Tony by his side. Upon his return home he remained an entrepreneur and joined Zion Grove AME Zion Church in Eagle Springs, North Carolina where he remained faithful until his health failed. He still joyfully listened to gospel music and enjoyed the many conversation with family and friends.

Five brothers proceeded him in death: Fred, Eugene, Frank, Charles and Floyd Spencer. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memory two brother, Ronzell Spencer and Rexie Spencer of the home. One sister Deloris Ritter (Jerry) of Robbins, North Carolina. One sister-in-law Clara Spencer. A special companion Joyce A. Thomas. One son Emmerson Jackson (Clara) and one daughter Enid Fayquetta “Yumps” Jones Thomas both of Charlotte, North Carolina. Seven grandchildren, Iesha, Ineshia, Isaiah, Itavia, Charmaine, Chelsea and Chloe. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
