Morgan Addison Spencer, age 19, was born on January 23, 2006. On Monday, October 6, 2025, the Lord lovingly called her home to glory, transitioning her to her eternal heavenly home. Morgan was what her mother affectionately called a “Joy Bucket” or “Joy Sprinkler.” To her Granny and Granddaddy, she was their “Sweet Honeybee” and “Punkin Chipper.” She had a fervent love for life and made sure that everyone she met knew it.
Her infectious laugh radiated through any space she occupied —often heard even before she entered the room. She left a lasting impression on the hearts of many, and it was impossible not to smile after being in her presence.
Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Morgan’s educational journey was filled with achievement. She was a student at Knightdale High School at the time of her passing. She loved participating in the Special Olympics and proudly won many ribbons —even when she occasionally napped through some of the events. Like her Granddaddy, she loved ice cream, and Goodberry’s was her favorite sweet spot. Morgan enjoyed bowling, wheelchair roller skating, and even took a trip to Disney on the Carolina Panthers jet. She rode a mini roller coaster and lived a life overflowing with joy and fulfillment. She deeply loved her sister Jaidah, her mother, and her auntie —their bond was unbreakable.
Above all, Morgan’s greatest love was worshipping Jesus Christ. She attended Collins Chapel Congregational Church in Robbins, NC, and later Love Faith & Fellowship Deliverance Center in Sanford, NC, where she delighted in hearing her pastor, Rev. Charlie Hawes, sing. When the music began, her eyes would light up, and she would lift her voice in her own unique way of worship. She also loved to pray. When her Aunt Ne (Yvette) prayed before school, Morgan would often take over with giggles and joy as she talked to God.
She possessed the sweetest spirit, and though her words were not like ours, she spoke volumes through her life —a true ambassador and reflection of Jesus Christ for the Kingdom of Heaven. Well done, thy good and faithful servant.
Morgan was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Tommy H. Thompson, and her paternal grandparents. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted mother, Ursula Thompson, who loved her dearly; her father, Darius Spencer; her loving sisters, Jaidah, Khailah, and Jassmine Spencer; her maternal grandmother, Lucille Thompson; her “extra special” aunt, Yvette Renee Thompson; her uncles, Bryice Thompson (Takitta), Farrell Thompson, Clarke Thompson, and Miguel Davis (Cathy); her cousins, Brandon, Jessica, Natalia, and Nikolai Davis, and Jayden Thompson; very special friends —the Goss family, Sidney Mills, Monike Moss, Heather Elliot, Sarah Gamble, Gina Williams, Pieter Westerbeek, Shannon Prevo, Rich Brewer, Jorden Gammon, Joanne Hubbard, Grace Nix, Shireen Hicks, and Samantha Ruppe; her Abilitations family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
