Elder Nancy Ann Baldwin was born to the late Rudy T. and Miranda Baldwin on January 21, 1954. She joined Hood Chapel AME Zion Church in Biscoe, NC in her youth and served in various capacities throughout her time there. She graduated from East Montgomery High School in May of 1972.

She entered the labor force prior to graduating from high school having secured employment at Russell’s Hosiery/Fruit of the Loom, where she worked for more than 2 decades until the hosiery mill closed its doors permanently. She attended Montgomery Community College, where she obtained her CNA I and CNA II certifications in May of 2001.  She then began her tenure at the Sandy Ridge Memory Care & Assisted Living Facility as CNA and was later promoted to

Activity Director/Management from its inception in June of 2001 through July 18, 2022, the day that she transitioned to her heavenly home.

Nancy’s reliance upon God and her spiritual walk with Jesus Christ was central to her existence, and she demonstrated her commitment to the Lord in service to her family, church, fellowman, job, and the broader community.  Her motto was “Master Can You Use Me” as was reflected throughout her wholehearted service and devotion to his work. She joined Greater Glory Pentecostal Deliverance Ministries International, where she served in many capacities from 1996 until God called her home. She served as Usher Board President, Mission of Love President, Assistant Choir President, Praise Team member, clergy staff member, Mother Board member (for many years), and in countless other positions. A member of Sunshine Side Chapter # 560 Order of the Eastern Stars of Biscoe, NC. Her faithfulness was rewarded with her most recent appointment as Elder in the Lord’s Church on March 12, 2022.

Elder Nancy A. Baldwin leaves to cherish her memory her nieces/daughters (whom she raised following the passing of their mother, her sister), Rebecca “Becky” Baldwin of Greensboro, NC and Cathy “Bam” (Leon) Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, NC; her adoptive brother, Mr. Robert Baldwin of Biscoe, NC; her great nephews, Joshua Baldwin of the home, Ja’Mari Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, and Jaquires Pemberton of College Station, Texas; her great great niece, Keilani Pemberton of College Station, Texas; her godchildren, Danielle (Victor) Blue of West End, NC, Sundiata (Quan) Jackson of Raeford, NC; Erin “Tree” Harris of Asheboro, NC, Marquis Barrett of Troy, NC; Lexani Lilly of Albemarle, NC, and Shawn Morrison of Troy, NC; Michael Livingston of Greensboro, NC; and a host of cousins and friends.
