Olillian O. (Dowd) Shamburger

Olillian Dowd Shamburger was born December 30, 1932 to the late Leonard and Aggie Dowd in Robbins, NC. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst NC.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great great grandmother. She loved spending time with all her family. She loved to help others in her community and she had a passion for caring for others. She worked in the medical field as an Med-Tech/ CNA and she also was a Foster parent.

She was a member of Bear Creek Congregational Church where she served on the 

Usher Board, Floral Committee and Member of The Senior Choir for many, many years

She was married to the late Willie Lee Shamburger on August 11, 1957. She was preceded in death by her brothers Herbert Dowd and Floyd Dowd and one sister Lola Dowd.

She leaves to cherish her memories: five children Jerry Dowd (Janice) High Point, NC, Boyce Dowd (Sharon) West End, NC, Diane Smith (Ronald) Robbins, NC, Michael Shamburger (Shonda) Asheboro, NC, Vanessa Needham (James) Robbins, NC. 

Seven grandchildren, Chrystal Dowd Singletary (Octavious), Olysa Dowd, Kelley Dowd, Devonte Deaton, Brice Dowd, Tra’ Johnson and Jaheim Neal-Dowd.

Nine great grandchildren, JaLisa, Quashan, Taijh, Airiana, Kelyse, Jayden, Jessica, Sabastion and Jayden.

One great great grandchild, Carter Hunt

Special daughter in law, Tanya Dowd and Special sister in law Lola Nobles and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
