Paul Anthony Matthews

Mr. Paul Anthony Matthews, age 65 of Cameron, North Carolina departed this earthly journey on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Paul Anthony Matthews, known to many as Andy, was born July 18, 1959 in Moore County, North Carolina to the late Willie and Josephine Matthews. Paul was a member of Red Hill Missionary

Baptist Church since a little boy. He worked for DOT for numerous years as well as Moore County Schools. He retired from DOT and went back working part time for DOT in Sanford, North Carolina.

Paul loved his gun collection, working in the yard and being with his beloved family.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, 1 great granddaughter, and his brother in law. 

Paul leaves behind a life time of cherished memories with his beloved devoted and loving wife of 42 years Regina Matthews; two sons, Anthony Matthews (Joanna) of Cameron, North Carolina; Calvin Lee Matthews (Calvin’s friend Vanessa). One daughter, Paula Matthews Kiser (Marvis). Two sons of the home La’Paul Matthews and Isaiah Thomas. Three sisters, Ollie Jeanette Williams, Paulette Miller (Jimmy), and Katrina Matthews. One brother Fredrick Matthews.

He was a devoted pawpaw to 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, work family and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Though Mr. Paul may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be missed beyond words.
