Samuel Davis Obituary

Samuel Willis Davis, affectionately known to all as "Willie," transitioned to eternal life on June 24, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on March 28, 1961, Willie grew up and attended schools in Robbins and also Sandhills Community College, before later settling in Asheboro. A true outdoorsman at heart, Willie found his greatest peace and quiet in the embrace of nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and possessed a lifelong passion for raising and training hunting dogs.

Willie was also a highly skilled craftsman who dedicated his life to the trade of brick masonry. Through hard work, precision, and an enduring work ethic, he ultimately built and operated his own successful business as a masonry contractor, leaving a tangible legacy in the communities he served;  completing projects at A&T State University, RJ Reynolds, Food Lion, Walmart, Hayes Taylor YMCA, and others.

Known for his warm and loving personality, Willie brought joy and comfort to those around him. He developed a fiercely independent spirit, confidently pursuing a variety of passions and carving out a unique life path that was entirely his own.

Willie's love and legacy will live on through his family. He is survived by his son: Jeffrey Allen Davis Sr. and 3 grandchildren. Two loyal friends, Samantha and Nadia Mabry.  He also leaves to mourn his death, his loving siblings: Bishop Dr. Phillip E. Davis Sr. (Dr. Gwendolyn); H. Anthony Davis Sr. (Jacqueline); Donnell Davis (Janet); Michael Davis (Valerie); and one sister, Pamela Thompson (Ronnie).   He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Williams Davis; his uncle, Dr. Joe L. Simmons (Mary); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will miss his warmth, his strength, and his independent spirit.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Samuel I. Davis and Lucille Simmons Davis; his brother Frederick L. Davis; and his daughter, Samantha.
