Theresa Annette (Lambert) Newby

Theresa was a fun-loving character who always had a good time and shared memories with everyone she met. She passed away on June 2nd, 2021, at the age of 63. She was born on September 21, 1957, to Maggie & JC Lambert. She grew up in West End, NC.  Theresa was a lifelong member of Love Grove A.M.E. Zion Church.  In 1983, she married and began her career at Heritage Care Healthcare in Seven Lakes, NC. There she was a cook for 20+ years. She later took on a medical career in Home Health that she genuinely enjoyed. She made lifelong friendships with the staff and her clients throughout the duration. All in all, she loved cooking and caring for others. She was known in the community for her famous dishes known as “chicken and dumplings’ and “peach cobbler.” Throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing and being the life of the party!  

Theresa was proceeded in death by her mother Maggie, her father JC, her sister Josephine, and two brothers, Billy and Sylvester.

Theresa is survived by her two daughters Latisha Newby, Amber Lambert (Chaka Sloan). Nine grandchildren: Tiezayah, Makayla, Izayah, Darnell, Joseph, Xavier, A’marei, Kyalie, and Quinton. Her siblings: Carolyn Owens (Asa), Geneva Lambert, Jean Prince, Shirley Mattox (Frankie), Anthony Lambert, Byron Lambert, Gloria Powell, and Sharon Young, One God Daughter Patricia (Damien)Townsend(Ty, JJ, Jo)  host of nieces, nephews, cousins and two lifelong friends, Ernestine Clark and Catherine Baldwin.
